Confidentiality & Privacy in Therapy & Counseling
The law protects the relationship between you and your therapist / counselor or coach at Restoring Hope Counseling & Coaching. Information you share with your therapist / counselor or coach cannot be disclosed to anyone without your written permission. However, there are exceptions.
These exceptions include:
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If you threaten serious bodily harm to another person/s, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
If you intend to harm yourself or someone else, we will make every effort to enlist your cooperation in ensuring their safety. If you do not cooperate, we will take further measures without your permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure your safety.
